The Hawick Paper

Hawick Apostolic Church

The congregation of Hawick Apostolic Church, also known as the Pentecostal Church, met in a wooden hut adjacent to the Drill Hall, where the Evergreen Hall now stands. The Apostolic congregation were people who wished to be filled with the Holy Spirit, like the Apostles at Pentecost. The congregation moved here from a mission hall in Beaconsfield Terrace, where soldiers of the Black Watch had been billeted during WWI.
